Can I disable the auto-update feature?
In a word, "No." Why? To quote a forum post by the lead ePrompter tech: QUOTE There is no way to disable this feature nor will there be a future version with this capability. ePrompter encompasses and supports hundreds of email types including many major webmail as well as POP3. We also have tens of thousands of users depending on ePrompter for easy access to their various email types. When any of the email providers make even a subtle change, we need to address it and get it out as soon as possible. Because these changes can happen at anytime, and because we support so many types, it would be a logistic, technical, and support nightmare to allow users to have various versions... ones that do not have patches. Our email load, which is currently in the hundreds per day, would easily go to thousands. Because we stride to answer every email, it would be next to impossible to answer them all. It was decided at the inception of ePrompter, that all updates be mandatory and automatic. -------------------- We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star, but we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special.
